Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 22 October 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of Improve Aged Care websites, online learning and related services.

By purchasing, accessing or using Improve Aged Care learning or services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

About Improve Aged Care

Improve Aged Care provides online learning, professional development, resources and related services for individuals and organisations, primarily within the aged care sector in Australia and New Zealand.

Our learning includes professional education for aged care workers, Registered Nurses and other aged care professionals, as well as Care Ready learning designed for family members, friends and others supporting an older person.

Online learning accounts

Access to purchased learning may require an individual user account.

You are responsible for keeping your account details and password secure and for activity undertaken through your account.

Accounts and learning access are provided to the authorised learner and must not be shared with another person.

Organisational purchases and learner licences

Where an organisation purchases learning for its staff or other learners, each licence or learning place is for the learner to whom it is allocated.

Learner accounts, licences, access and completion records must not be shared between staff or transferred between learners unless Improve Aged Care expressly agrees otherwise.

Organisations are responsible for providing accurate information when arranging learning access for their learners.

Access to purchased learning

Purchased online learning does not currently have a fixed expiry date and may remain available to the authorised learner while the relevant learning and Improve Aged Care learning platform remain available.

Improve Aged Care may update, revise, replace or retire learning from time to time to maintain currency, quality, regulatory relevance or platform functionality.

Where reasonably practicable, we will seek to avoid unnecessary disruption to learners who are actively completing purchased learning.

Payments

Payments for online learning are processed securely through Stripe.

Prices are displayed in the applicable currency and any applicable taxes or charges will be identified as part of the purchasing process where required.

Business customers may receive appropriate transaction documentation for their purchase.

Improve Aged Care does not store complete payment card details used to process payments through Stripe.

Refunds and cancellations

Because our online learning is digital content that becomes available after purchase, refunds are generally not available once a learner has commenced or accessed the purchased learning.

This does not exclude or limit any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws in Australia or New Zealand.

If you experience a technical problem or believe there has been an error with your purchase, please contact Improve Aged Care so that we can investigate and assist.

Learning completion and certificates

Certificates of completion are issued only when the learner has successfully met the completion requirements for the relevant learning block, course or programme.

A certificate confirms completion of the relevant Improve Aged Care learning. It does not represent professional registration, accreditation, a formal qualification or authority to practise beyond the learner's existing professional scope unless expressly stated otherwise.

Learners are responsible for ensuring that any learning they undertake is appropriate to their role, professional requirements and circumstances.

Educational purpose

Improve Aged Care learning and resources are provided for education and professional development.

Content intended for aged care professionals does not replace professional judgement, an individual's scope of practice, an organisation's policies and procedures, or applicable legal, regulatory and professional requirements.

Care Ready learning and other consumer-facing information is educational in nature and is not a substitute for individual medical, nursing or other professional advice.

Where there is an immediate concern about a person's health or safety, appropriate professional or emergency assistance should be sought.

Currency of information

We take reasonable care to develop learning that is accurate, practical and relevant at the time of publication.

Aged care requirements, professional guidance, evidence and regulatory expectations may change. Improve Aged Care may therefore review and update learning content from time to time.

Users and organisations remain responsible for considering current requirements that apply to their particular role, service, location and circumstances.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, Improve Aged Care owns or has permission to use the content, design, learning materials, resources, graphics and other material made available through its websites and learning platform.

Purchasing learning gives the authorised learner a personal, limited right to access and use that learning for its intended educational purpose.

Improve Aged Care content must not be copied, reproduced, republished, distributed, sold, shared, uploaded to another system, used to create competing learning or otherwise commercially exploited without prior written permission.

Reasonable personal notes and records made by a learner for their own learning are permitted.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • share account credentials or learning access with another person;

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account;

  • copy or distribute learning content except where expressly permitted;

  • interfere with the operation or security of our websites or learning platform; or

  • use Improve Aged Care services for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.

We may suspend or restrict access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been seriously breached or where this is necessary to protect our users, content or systems.

Third-party services

Improve Aged Care uses third-party technology and service providers to support functions such as website hosting, online learning, payments, communications and business administration.

Use of some functions may therefore also be subject to the relevant provider's terms, privacy practices or technical availability.

Availability and changes to services

We aim to provide reliable access to our websites and online learning but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Access may occasionally be affected by maintenance, updates, technical problems or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Improve Aged Care may improve, update or modify its websites, platform, learning and services over time.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Improve Aged Care is not responsible for loss arising solely from reliance on general educational information without appropriate consideration of the user's individual circumstances, professional responsibilities or applicable organisational and regulatory requirements.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Australian or New Zealand law.

Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with the Improve Aged Care Privacy Policy.
